I stayed here quite some time ago. The rooms are definitely not what you'd expect when the word "boutique" is part of the name. The level of cleanliness was not at all what you'd expect and the amenities were very Basic. Upon arrival we were greeted with damp towels on the bed. When I called the owner to let them know that was the case, they weren't particularly interested. Didn't apologise and it just went downhill from there

We arrived, having booked dinner for 18.00 and having received a confirmation by email, but the pub was closed up with no sign of life. Total waste of time and fuel. Zero stars, but not able to post zero

The room was very nice and spectacular. I like the rustic motive. The staff is very nice and helpful. It is very close to the Stansted airport. I took 2 stars for the bathroom. U could do much more and u can have 5stars. The shower holder is not too expensive to replace and the shower shelves either. Have such a lovely room and be afraid to go to the bath, what is going to fall on me. Taxi that I have recommended as a cheaper taxi was quite expensive . For a 10 min drive at 8pm £16 is quite a lot. In the morning we took a bus and it cost us £2 and £1 . Two more things : to bedrooms you need to go on metal stairs, then it is much more difficult with 20kg bag. ;) and 3 rooms are oriented to main street then take something to your ears if u want to sleep. ;) The shop is 20 min left from the hotel. Bus 2min.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS HOTEL AT ALL COSTS. DON'T GIVE THEM YOUR BUSINESS How the hell does this hotel have a 3.7 star average.... Look at the reviews. I couldn't even stay here, as they stated that you could check in any time. I arrived late at night, the building was closed, and no one was answering the phone. I checked all e-mails, there was no code to the door given to me at any time (normal for airbnb type places, or booking.com, etc). I found this strange. When I tried to issue a refund (because we had to stay somewhere else) they denied everything.

Paid for room, wasn’t sent check in details, no one about when I arrived, tried to call multiple times on landline and mobile number, tried emailing, no answer. Left out in the dark and rain with no other option to find another place to stay, then they had the audacity to not refund me, absolutely diabolical - avoid!

I don't normally write bad reviews but me and my family came here for a roast dinner a couple months ago and I must say it was the best me and my family have had for a while. The lady on duty I think that was in charge was amazing. They ran out of the Giant Yorkshires that came with it, so she offered to go to the shop to buy more which she did and it was really appreciated the service. We recommended it to our friends who came the other week for a roast and their service was not the same or the food. After hearing their feedback we was really embarrassed and regret recommending it. Their food was cold and the meat was not good. They said the man on duty was rude to them and the service was terrible we will not be returning or recommending it to our friends again either!

The stuff is great. The location is perfect for the airport. The guy working there kalim is such friendly and helpful person, Very smart guy and loyal. I even offered him a job to work for me but he rejected he said he likes working there. I can say there is smth special about that place

DO NOT BOOK A ROOM HERE!!!!!!!! Room smelt musty & was extremely dirty. Numerous stains on the sheets, and was not secure. Nobody to complain to on-site. Booked elsewhere and emailed for a refund. To date we have received no reponse. Called the pub in the evening, the lady that answered the phone would not tell us who the management were and when asked to pass the phone to the manager, she said there was no manager as he had left, so there was no manager. AVOID! AVOID! AVOID!

Stopped in on Saturday afternoon for a quick drink with a friend only to find that they had run out of two of the beers on tap so we settled for the last draught. It was freezing cold inside and the barman was sitting at a table playing on his laptop the whole time whilst sitting next to a plug in electric radiator to stay warm. Reluctantly we went up for a second drink only to be told that this too had now run out so we left. I have recently moved house and this would have been my local. I won't be going back there for sure.

Good greeting from the staff for a Sunday lunch, there were to many tables and chairs in the bar/restaurant which made it congested. We picked ower roast Beef dinner but couldn't chew it, as it was like rubber, soup was a bit thick. Staff didn't ask us if everything was OK during the meal and only at the end. So won't be going back in a hurry sorry.

I booked a room and specify I will check in at midnight as my flight arrived at 23:30H. When arrived to the "hotel" no one was there, no instruction to self checking were sent, I was on the street in the rain. I managed to get the Landlady mobile phone from a neighbour and she didn't pick and rather turn her mobile off. I understand it was late (midnight) but you know you have guesses coming late, at least have the dignity to pick up the phone. I am very very disappointed.

Perfect when walking your dog, great breakfast and drinks with reasonable prices and I go there a lot. 100 percent recommendation

Poloha velmi blizko letiska, co sme pozadovali, lrn nacpat 5 lidi do jednoho malinkeho pokoje na pristyky bylo trosku moc, sklon podlahy a vseho na ni je skoro 6° takze spanek dolu kopcem zarucen...koupelna vyzaduje razantnejsi udrzbu a rekonstrukci. Doporucit bohuzel nemuzu- hlavne pokoj c.2. Snad jsou na tom ostatni lépe...

Popped in for an evening meal. Pork, apple and cider pie was delicious 😋 Hubby had cheesy mash with his Dad's beef and mushroom pie (I nicked a bit and it was definitely cheesy) 🧀Lovely triple fried chips and onion gravy. Coming from up North I was suitably impressed 😋🤘

We arrived at the hotel in the afternoon and had to wait 3/4 hour to actually get in as the key wouldn't work. The staff in the restaurant said they don't have anything to do with hotel but tried to help. The owner isn't on site. The next morning there was no hot water. We left before they fixed it an hour and a half later. Owners are not on site and proves difficult they don't respond right away. Very poor service.

Stayed here due to a late arrival flight from stanstead. We didn’t see anyone that worked here at any point and were woken by extremely loud guests shouting and banging about in the middle of the night. We both understand that others like ourselves, will be staying here due to the convenience of the airport however guests should be told to be more cautious of others. A really awful nights sleep. The bed was comfy and the decor of the room was nice enough. This place has potential so it was disappointing to be let down. The bathroom was really unclean and filled with flies and a dirty toilet. The floor was unclean along with the windows and shower. Due to the old features of the property it seems hard to get any proper airflow into the tiny bathroom hence the damp smell and flies. The bedsheets were clean and the bed was comfy so for convenience sake the stay was fine. I would say at £55 per night is really quite over priced.

Avoid! We got a filthy room with hair everywhere, the bedsheet wasn’t clean either!(sadly we just saw it later!!!) After a 2hour sleep several BEDBUG bites, unacceptable! The owner doesn’t answers at all. We asked for the reclamation book, didn’t got it either… Extra: The water is literally just dripping from the sink if you open it. Total waste of Time and Money!

Evitar! Temos um quarto imundo com cabelos por toda parte, o lençol também não estava limpo! (infelizmente só vimos isso mais tarde!!!) Depois de 2 horas de sono, várias mordidas de percevejos, inaceitáveis! O proprietário não responde nada. Pedimos o livro de recuperação, também não recebemos… Extra: A água está literalmente pingando da pia se você abri-la. Desperdício total de tempo e dinheiro!

TV did not work. Soap dispenser was empty. Shower dispensers were empty. The bar was closed. Shower was cold.
